ALPINA TexSnow
Textile snow for ski jump facilities and cross-country tracks
Textile snow for ski jump facilities and cross-country tracks
A completely redeveloped textile covering makes jumping equipment usable for 365 days a year. TexSnow is designed for all weather conditions and seasons. After uncomplicated installation one can jump immediately.
This revolutionary coating keeps water for several hours – saving up to 90% on irrigation.
TexSnow is made partly from recycled material. Another environmental advantage. The UV-resistant coating will last at least 10 years under continuous use.
TexSnow is designed for all weather conditions and seasons. After uncomplicated installation one can jump immediately.
The very special feature:
when it‘s snowing, TexSnow provides a perfect base for natural snow. An additional snow net is not necessary.
TexSnow TexSnow provides a solid foundation for fresh snow, without any further requirements. This ensures continuous operation of the facility without any additional effort.
A system equipped with TexSnow does not even have to be artificially snowed. But also artificial snow sticks perfectly on TexSnow …
Costs of TexSnow are comparative with those of previous systems.
The saving of up to 90% water during operation keeps running costs low.
TexSnow installation is quick and easy. A ski jump facility up to 40 m can be equipped within one day, completely ready for training.
TexSnow TexSnow can be used on the hill as well as for the inrun track. Landsliding is also possible and thus offers an interesting entry experience for junior athletes and school children in every season.
A ski jump facility up to 40 m can be equipped within one day.
TexSnow can also be applied to existing systems.
The three ski jumping hills in Velden (A) with 7, 12 and 30 meters have been equipped with TexSnow within one day.
TexSnow was developed by ALPINA Sicherheitssysteme GmbH together with Mr.Snow®, in constant contact and close cooperation with the International Ski Federation FIS.
The ALPINA department „Innovative Solutions for Ski Jumping“ has been extremely successful with the use of wind nets since 2009.
When accidentally sliding on TexSnow, there is no frictional heat due to the well-thought-out material properties. The structure allows high directional stability.
The optional impact absorbers from ALPINA also offer the best protection when needed.
That is safety in best Austrian quality!
The innovative combination of fibers made of polycarbonate and polyamide has been perfected over two years of development and now has optimal properties – only snow is more genuine. Tracking, friction and grip are very realistic. The test jumpers report a near-natural inrun and landing feeling.
TexSnow is used in the inrun track – with guide rails, as on large ski jumping facilities. This makes training under competition conditions possible.
A track without guide rails lowers the inhibition threshold. The inrun is defined by the material color. Young and junior athletes, or even schoolchildren, can try a trial jump in any season, even with normal skis.
With TexSnow every ski jump facility can be retrofitted. The existing material structure serves as a base. A disassembly is not necessary, the total cost of the conversion is therefore relatively low.
After two years of development, TexSnow has been ready for practical use since 2018. Athletes have already completed over 1,000 successful jumps on the 40 meter test facility in Steinbach / Hallenberg and the three hills in Velden at 7, 12 and 30 meters. Every facility was equipped with TexSnow within one day. The water requirement is 10 percent of a normal system. On snow nets can be omitted, since TexSnow offers a perfect base for real snow.
This is possible on our test facilities in Steinbach / Hallenberg (D) and Velden (A).
From planning to installation of your facility, we are available for all tasks.
