Research & Development

The ALPINA ROAD AIRBAG was created from the ALPINA F1 SAFETY SYSTEM developed for Formula 1. After 20 years of successful use, it was modified for the use on major roads.

The modified road airbag products have been used successfully on major roads in Austria and Europe since 1997.

All ALPINA ROAD AIRBAG systems have been successfully tested according to Part 3 of the European Standard EN 1317 and approved by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology.
