Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The next, bigger challenge (after the pilot system for the Bergisel ski jump) came up after the New Year’s event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was canceled due to the wind. After clarifying the customer’s requirements on site (architect objections, television, financing) for a year, this system with approx. 1,500 m² of net area was finally ready in January 2012. On the very first day, an impending cancellation due to heavier winds was averted, and we received extremely positive feedback from the organizing committee, the German Ski Association and the FIS delegates. The wind problem had meanwhile become a topic for the FIS and ski jump organizers throughout all regions, and the next venue for the Winter Olympics also required action in this regard.
